Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Vacancy

Job Title: Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Versatile Flexible Robotics Startup

Location: Netherlands (Remote with occasional in-person meetings)

About Us

We are a pioneering adaptive soft robotics startup based in the Netherlands, focused on creating robotics solutions that are both adaptable and safe for sensitive environments, including agri-food, biomedical, and other delicate industries. With a strong R&D foundation, we’ve developed a portfolio of adaptive soft robotics technologies that are designed to operate effectively and safely in complex settings where precision and care are essential. We’re now ready to commercialize these innovations, and we’re looking for a strategic co-founder to drive our growth, funding, and market expansion efforts.

The Role

As Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you’ll be responsible for leading our commercialization strategy, identifying market opportunities, and securing the funding to propel us forward. Working closely with the technical founder, you’ll shape the brand, establish strategic partnerships, and guide our adaptive, safety-focused soft robotics technologies to market readiness. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact, bringing innovative robotics solutions to industries that demand both adaptability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market Research & Strategy Development: Identify and analyze target markets, focusing on high-impact sectors like agri-food and biomedicine where safe, adaptable robotics are crucial. Develop a go-to-market strategy that highlights these unique benefits.

  2. Brand Development and Marketing: Lead the creation of a brand that emphasizes our commitment to safety, adaptability, and innovation. Drive marketing and sales efforts to position our products as leaders in sensitive and regulated industries.

  3. Funding and Financial Strategy: Develop financial plans, oversee budgeting, and secure funding from sources such as angel investors, grants, and strategic partners.

  4. Strategic Partnerships: Build relationships with industry players in agri-food, biomedical, and other sectors, establishing partnerships that support safe and effective product deployment.

  5. Growth and Scaling: Create a roadmap for scaling the business, including team expansion and operational optimization to meet market demand.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in High-Tech and Regulated Markets: You have a successful track record in commercializing innovative technologies, ideally with experience in fields requiring safety and regulatory compliance, such as robotics, agri-food, or healthcare.

  • Finance and Funding Expertise: Skilled in early-stage fundraising and financial planning, with experience securing capital (e.g., angel, seed, grants) for startups.

  • Strategic and Market-Focused: You have a deep understanding of market analysis, positioning, and go-to-market strategies, especially for technologies that require both adaptability and safety.

  • Entrepreneurial and Resilient: You thrive in dynamic environments and have a passion for building companies from the ground up.

  • Collaborative Leader: You’re a team player ready to recruit, lead, and inspire teams committed to advancing adaptive robotics in sensitive industries.

What We Offer

  • Equity Partnership: 15-20% equity, with a 4-year vesting schedule and a 1-year cliff, reflecting your role as a co-founder driving business success.

  • Impact and Autonomy: An opportunity to shape the future of adaptive, safety-focused robotics, with significant influence over commercialization and strategic growth.

  • Innovative Environment: Collaborate closely with a technical founder dedicated to creating adaptive soft robotics that address the unique needs of sensitive, regulated industries.

  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Primarily remote, based in the Netherlands, with occasional in-person meetings to foster collaboration.
