Who we are

Ali Leylavi Shoushtari

Ali Leylavi Shoushtari holds a Ph.D. in Biorobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa. With expertise in robotic system design, including soft origami actuators and advanced manipulators, Ali has led pioneering research in soft robotics for agriculture and food handling at the Center for Micro-BioRobotics (CMBR), IIT and Wageningen University & Research.

As a senior scientist at Wageningen Robotics, he developed innovative soft robotic grippers for delicate crop handling. Currently, Ali is focused on commercializing adaptive soft robotics technologies for industries such as agri-food, biomedical, and automation. His mission is to deliver safe, efficient, and transformative solutions that bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications. Ali aims to lead in adaptive soft robotics, driving sustainable innovations that enhance productivity, safety, and environmental impact across industries
